In the footsteps of Kings, Hiking Forty Hall and Enfield Chase (oyster friendly)

This journey explores the magnificent country parks of North London, tracing drovers' roads and ancient pathways we hike through the former hunting grounds of Tudor kings and medieval estates.
Our route takes us through landscaped gardens, walking past the stunning Jacobean mansion of Forty Hall and its tranquil ornamental lakes. We'll follow the Turkey Brook through enchanting woodlands, discovering the ancient oaks and hornbeams of Whitewebbs Park.
Continuing along Salmons Brook, we'll traverse picturesque meadows to reach Enfield Chase, and finally, stroll along tree-lined avenues through the serene expanse of Trent Country Park.
The trail concludes at Cockfosters Tube station, where you're welcome to join us for a cosy drink before your journey home.
GRADE: Beginner 16km 220m ascent 4.5hrs hiking, 1 hour for stops. Rolling countryside, woodland paths, and park tracks.
COST: £10 payable on RSVP.
MEETING TIME: 10:17 Turkey Street Station. outside the main entrance.
TRAINS: Oyster friendly:- trains to Turkey street from Liverpool street or Seven Sisters. Return from Cockfosters, Piccadilly line
WALK STARTS: 10:20 at Turkey Street Station
LUNCH: Pack Lunch
WALK FINISHES: Approx 16:30 at Cockfosters Station.
