Peak District Bank Holiday Hiking Weekend – Stanage Edge & Win Hill

Join GO London Hiking for a long weekend escape in the Peak District National Park — one of England’s most breathtaking landscapes. Our base is Bamford, a charming village in the Hope Valley, surrounded by dramatic gritstone edges, tranquil reservoirs, and classic English countryside.
Over three days, we’ll explore iconic highlights including Stanage Edge, famous for its sweeping views and rock climbing heritage, and High Neb, the highest point of Stanage offering panoramic views across the Dark Peak. Another day takes us along Win Hill and Hope Cross, tracing ancient packhorse routes before looping back past the shimmering waters of Ladybower Reservoir.
Our accommodation, Homestead & Cheesehouse, The Farm, Bamford, sits just 30 minutes’ walk from the station — the perfect countryside retreat. On the final morning, there’s time for a relaxed visit to Hathersage, a village steeped in literary and medieval history, including Little John’s Grave and links to Charlotte Brontë.

### Day 2 – Saturday: Bamford & Stanage Edge Hike

Explore the breathtaking ridge of Stanage Edge, High Neb, and Hope Valley viewpoints.
Distance: 16 km Ascent: 450 m Hiking time 5 hrs excluding breaks, Terrain: open moorland, rocky edges, and grassy paths Grade: Intermediate 🥾🥾

### Day 3 – Sunday: Win Hill, Hope Cross & Ladybower Reservoir

A spectacular ridge walk taking in stunning lake views and ancient trails.
Distance: 16 km Ascent: 520 m Terrain: forest tracks, ridgelines, and reservoir paths Grade: 🥾🥾

### Day 4 – Monday: Travel Home / Optional Hathersage Visit

Relaxed morning departure.
Optional visit to Hathersage for coffee, local shops, or a short stroll before your return train.
