Hiking to Windsor Castle, the Thames path and Magna Carta Monument

Starting from Datchet Station, this beautiful and historic hike follows the Thames towards Runnymede, one of the most important historic sites in England. It was here in 1215 that King John sealed the Magna Carta, the document that placed limits on royal power and helped shape the development of modern democracy.
From Runnymede, we climb through woodland before entering the magnificent Windsor Great Park, hiking through ancient oak trees, open parkland and rolling countryside. Weβll then join the famous Long Walk, with superb views towards Windsor Castle as we make our way into Windsor.
Windsor Castle has been a royal residence for almost 1,000 years, while the surrounding Great Park was once the traditional hunting ground of generations of kings and queens.
Our hike finishes in Windsor, where you are welcome to join us for a well-earned drink and refreshments before making your way home.
