Saxon Shore Hike, Faversham to Whitstable, Kent Creek to Coast.

Join us for a social Autumn walk from Creek to Coast in beautiful Kent. We start our walk from Faversham, Kent's oldest Market Town, initially winding through the historic market town and past traditional boatyards along the creek. Our route will follow a mix of the Saxon Shore Way and the King Charles III England Coast Path as we walk along wide-open marshlands featuring expansive skies, local birdlife, and distant estuarial views. After passing through the quiet coastal village of Seasalter, home to local sea-skiff clubs and the Michelin Stared gastropub The Sportsman, we follow the pebble shores to the colourful beach huts of Whitstable. A charming and historic seaside town, famous for its native oysters and relaxed coastal atmosphere, here you can join the group for food or drink at a local pub or explore the town and beaches or catch a train directly back to London.

GRADE: Beginner- Intermediate/ 17km
140m ascent 4.30hrs walking time.
Flat dirt tracks, grass, sea walls, shingle, and paved sections. Paths can get muddy during wetter months.
PACE: Steady with regular breaks
MEETING TIME: 09:10 at London Victoria Station at the barriers to platforms 1-7.
TRAINS: 09:40 From London Victoria to Faversham, arriving 10:50, journey time 1hr10mins.
Train tickets are not included and are available on the day or in advance.
TICKETS: Day return to Whitstable, buy in advance or on the day, 3 people together can buy a group save ticket, ticket machines near to platform 1.
WALK STARTS: 10:50 at Faversham Station
LUNCH: Pack lunch
WALK FINISHES: 17:00 at Whitstable Station. Trains to Victoria hourly at 27mins past the hour, journey time 1hr20mins.
