Participate and challenge yourself at a level appropriate to your body and abilities. Progress at your own pace. Learn to set meaningful, realistic goals - and achieve them. Share challenges, insights, and successes in a small, committed, positive group of friends.
A typical class might include:
- Introductions
- Warm-ups and dynamic flexibility
- Body weight (no equipment) strength training
- Mat work (core and cardio, groundwork, simple tumbling, get-back-ups)
- Balance training
- Cool-down
- Static flexibility and stretching
- Meditation, discussion, or sharing
- Announcements of upcoming events
It might be helpful to know what these classes won't include, too:
- NO aerobic dance or loud music.
- NO rope climbing, tire flipping, or sandbag carrying.
- NO box jumps or burpees.*
- NO shouting, intimidation, or shaming.
- NO competition, and no scoreboards.
- NO mirrors, and no audience.
- And you don’t have to wear skin-tight workout wear (unless you want to). Old tee-shirts and baggy sweats are perfectly fine!
*If you don’t know what box jumps or burpees are, then trust me, you don’t want to be doing them. ;-)
Adults of all ages are welcome!
Classes are led by Linda Eskin - "Fit Coach Linda," a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor. Linda has additional training and experience in working with seniors, and is CPR/AED and First Aid certified by the American Red Cross.
Our beautiful indoor facility features changing rooms and an ADA-compliant restroom. There is heat and air conditioning for safe training in all weather. There is plenty of off-street parking (free).
Wear clothes designed for movement (yoga wear, sweats, ...). No shoes - we will be training barefoot on the mat. Nothing sharp - no zippers, rivets, etc. - to protect the mat. You will find this kind of training to be comfortable, freeing, and fun!
