Sunday Online Meditation Group Session Led by Ven. Guo Yuan

Sundays
11 am – 1 pm PT / 2 – 4 pm ET
Come! Come practice and learn together with us - online, while building camaraderie, diligence and having fun. Explore the journey of self-mastery through Chan Meditation.

The online session includes guided moving and seated meditation, Dharma talk*, Q&A or group discussion*, at the discretion of the Teacher. In the event of Abbot's unavailability (at times), he encourages us to continue the session to deepen our practice -together- and to further our faith in the practice, in this powerful continuum of group setting, with practitioners from around the world.

Agenda (subject to change):

  • Moving meditation (guided, ~30 minutes)
  • Seated meditation (guided, ~30 minutes)
  • Dharma Talk (live, or video*, ~15-30 minutes)
  • Q&A or group discussion/sharing* (~20-30 minutes)
  • For session that the Abbot is unavailabe, Dharma talk (via video) and group discussion will take place

Please allow enough space in the comfort of your own home/space for moving meditation. For seated meditation, a sturdy/comfortable chair where the thighs can be leveled with the body would be good, although meditation cushions/bench would be best if you have them.
Please register below to attend the Zoom meeting. We will also broadcast live on our Facebook page.

These sessions are for everyone:

Why practice in a group setting?

  • To be good at anything, we need to practice. And practice regularly.
  • The best way to learn and practice meditation is in a group setting.
  • In a group setting, we can assist one another and benefit from each other’s experience and wisdom.
  • The synergy of the group process also accelerates learning and deepens our meditation practices.
  • To that effect, these sessions are being iterative-ly refined for the explorers, beginners and experienced practitioners who could benefit from this supportive mechanism.
