[Auckland] Getting started - Intro to Go
Details
Hi everyone!
We start the year 2020 with the very first Go Bridge New Zealand (Auckland) meetup! Since Go has just turned 10 there couldn’t be a better time to join this amazing community. If you’re new to Go, and looking for an opportunity to learn with others and kick start your journey to becoming a fully fledged gopher, you’re at the right place!
Our goal is to empower underrepresented groups in tech and improve diversity and inclusion in the Go community. So if that sounds like something you’re keen to be a part of, you’re more than welcome to join us!
Schedule:
6:00pm: Start off with a brief introduction to Go (why use Go?) and community (what do people think about Go? What are the best ways to get help from others while learning?).
6:20pm: Bring your laptop! We will work through the “A Tour of Go” tutorial (https://tour.golang.org/) together. We will be here to answer all of your questions and explain some basic concepts.
What you will need:
- Laptop
- Curiosity
What we will provide:
- WiFi
- Guidance
- Food
The meetup will be held at Vend (2 Nuffield Street, Newmarket, Auckland 1023 - opposite the Newmarket Train Station) on Thursday the 30th of January from 6PM to 8PM.
