Hello everyone,

We are glad to announce a new GoBridge meetup!

If you’re new to Go, and looking for an opportunity to learn with others and kick start your journey to becoming a fully fledged gopher, you’re at the right place!

Our goal is to empower underrepresented groups in tech and improve diversity and inclusion in the Go community. So if that sounds like something you’re keen to be a part of, you’re more than welcome to join us!

During this meetup, Lucille will give a presentation about the Go programming language starting from the basics. Sylvain will then run a super fun interactive workshop, so bring your laptop (if you don't have one, fret not – we'll pair you up with a fellow attendee!)

Schedule:

  • 6:00pm: Arrival and mingling over pizza and beverages.
  • 6:30pm: Lucille introduces the world of Go programming in a beginner-friendly presentation.
  • 6:45pm: Sylvain guides you through your first lines of Go code in an interactive workshop.
  • 8:00pm: Wrapping up our evening together.

What you will need:

  • Your trusty laptop (in case you don't have one, we've got you covered with friendly pairing options).
  • A dash of curiosity and eagerness to learn.

What we will provide:

  • WiFi
  • Guidance
  • Pizza & drinks (including vegan and gluten-free choices)

Our gathering will be hosted at Lightspeed (formerly known as Vend), situated at 2 Nuffield Street, Newmarket, Auckland 1023. Conveniently located opposite the Newmarket Train Station. Please mark your calendars for Thursday, September 7th, and join us from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Join us, and let's embark on this exciting Go adventure together!
