Inanna, Sumerian Goddess of the Descent

This month we continue to honor Inanna, ancient Sumerian Queen of Heaven and Earth. She famously descends to the underworld and passes through seven gates or trials, and is stripped of her royal garments, ultimately facing death and resurrection. A powerful mythology to engage with. We painted her in March, and this month's class will honor her with an easy, accordion style journal that has a front and back side, representing her descent and return. Instructions provided. Guided by Jennifer and Penny, with Katie providing an opening ritual.

Supplies provided to those joining in person. If joining us remotely, suggested supplies are:
scissors and glue
6 or so pieces of decorative paper (you can use any size, any kind of paper. We'll be using scrapbook paper and painted papers, ranging in size but likely around 8 1/2" x 11")
magazine images or whatever other collage supplies you enjoy
paints or markers or whatever you like to use to add color to your projects

If you're joining us in person, please avoid scented products and be vaccinated or masked, and stay home if you have any symptoms of illness.
