This group is about outdoor activities - kayak, standup paddleboarding, mountain bike, or hiking/running. All events are held at nearby parks.

Our most popular events are our is the night time paddling during the Full Moon, Sunset Paddles, Manatee vieweing trips in the winter and spring, and bioluminescent paddles all summer. Special events are always in the mix with Fireworks Viewing on July 4th and New Year's Eve. Hold your birthday party outdoors! It's fun and catering is available too.

With the best Mountain Bike Trail on Virginia Key we teach riding skills from beginners to advanced. Or come by for a bike repair clinic. Our certified mechanics offer tune-ups at a great rate. Ride, drop it off, pick it up in a day or two, and ride again!

Great way to enjoy the outdoors. Outdoor adventurers of all levels are welcome! We invite all walks of life and especially those that can share their travel stories. All trips are staffed by professionally trained tour guides. The Meetups are open to the public. Most members do not have their own gear and can rent from Virginia Key Outdoor Center (http://www.vkoc.net).

Advance registration (online at www.vkoc.net) are required on all events. Even FREE events we appreciate you sign up first.

Blimey! It’s Manatee Season! Ready your cameras and paddles, it’s the best time of the year for wild manatee viewing! Multiple Manatee families have made a home out of Jimbo’s Lagoon and absolutely love to pose for the cameras. Come join us in the early mornings or late winter afternoons for an exclusive Manatee Photo Safari with an occasional dolphin or two! Please keep in mind that these wild and protected animals. It is illegal to molest, harass, disturb, and even to hug a manatee. We will be viewing these beautiful, yet funny looking animals from afar. We will kayak around Jimbo’s Lagoon in search for Manatees, we may venture out to the Virginia Key Cove where multiple manatee and dolphin sightings have been documented! Please keep in mind that Virginia Key is filled with wildlife, you may see even more than just Manatees. If time and weather permits it, we may beach at North Point where you are able to see an array of different bird species and the gorgeous Miami Skyline. Keep hands and objects (Paddles, and other materials) to yourself. Do not attempt to snag, hook, hold, grab, or ride a manatee. Do not Pursue or chase a manatee. They usually come around to check out paddlers. Pursuing them only causes them to swim away and ruins the fun for everyone, especially the manatee. When & Where: Please arrive between 1 hour to 30 minutes at Virginia Key Outdoor Center before the Launch Time. This will allow for a speedy check in process and have us on the water in no time. VKOC - Sunset Bike Tours

Experience the Magic City like no other! Join us as we hunt down the Sun and catch ocean breezes in the process. We'll be riding from the Outdoor Center to the Bear Cut Bridge to catch the sun set over the horizon! It is a beautiful experience. We will ride at a leisurely pace. This ride is suitable for beginners. We will be riding on the bike lane to and from. This ride is a round trip of 4.5 miles. Participants are welcome to hang out after the ride. If you'd like to bring something to eat or drink, we have a fridge and grill available on site. It will be light when we ride off, dark when we return. That means lights are required for the ride. No lights, no ride, it's the law. Lights are provided for all rentals. If you bring your own, you must bring a light. ADVANCE RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. BOOK AT VKOC.NET/BOOK-NOW/ Rates **Adult Bikes (Hardtail 27.5) - $35 BYOB pp (Bring Your Own Bike | Book One per Person): $10 TIME & PLACE: Meet at Virginia Key Outdoor Center, 3801 Rickenbacker Causeway, Miami, FL 33149. Please arrive at least 30-minutes prior to your event start time. Late arrivals are non-refundable. PARKING: Parking is FREE for event participants in the VKOC lot. ARRIVE at least 30-minutes prior to event start time. DIFFICULTY: This ride is suitable for experienced beginners. It is a 4.5 mile round trip bike ride. We will ride at a leisurely pace. DESTINATION: Our final destination is the the Bear Cut Bridge. We'll be stopping and watching the sunset over the Atlantic. Be sure to bring your phones, you'll want to take a picture of the view! Drinks, snacks, insect repellent, and lights are available from at the park store. KNOW THE LAW - Cyclists are expected to follow all other normal traffic laws. That means stopping and waiting at a red light and using hand signals to indicate turns. - Bikes are not allowed to ride more than two abreast! Unless they're in specially designated lanes or areas, cyclists cannot ride with more than two bikes side-by-side. If riding two abreast in conditions that would impede other traffic, cyclists are required to ride single-file. - You're not allowed to wear any headphones or headpieces because they could prevent you from properly detecting traffic. - LIGHTS: When riding at night, cyclists must have lights on their bikes. A white light visible from 500 feet away is required on the front, and both a red lamp and a red reflector visible from 600 feet away are required on the back - Cyclists under 16 must wear a helmet. RENTALS: Bikes are available for rent. Advanced reservations are required. If you are attempting to book onsite you must arrive at least an hour early. *CAN I BRING MY OWN BIKE? Yes you can! Please be sure to RSVP ahead of time by selecting the BYOB option. All bikes joining us on the tour must have a light. All BYOBs must be set up by the launch at least 20 minutes prior to start time. GROUPS AND PRIVATE TOURS: VKOC offers private and group events. Whether a romantic evening for two, a family outing, or a groups celebration we have a package for you. If you bring your own bike you MUST have your helmet and light. WHAT TO BRING: Bring any comfort items you may need, a towel, bugspray (just in case, it is Florida), maybe a change of clothes. If you left it behind, we probably have it available in our shop. FACILITIES: VKOC has private bathrooms (that are stocked), outdoor showers, and a snack and souvenir shop on premises.
