Afrinomics is organizing a meetup to the Wharton's African Business Forum for North American small and medium businesses and the Angolan Diaspora interested in manufacturing and supply chain and logistics opportunities in Angola. This meetup is also great for Angolan students and professionals.
----------------------------------------------------------------
WABF Theme: "It is critical that African governments and the private sector make the right decisions to sustain its promising growth. But what are these decisions? Which growth model should governments promote for Africa – a similar low cost manufacturing model used by East Asia, an agriculture-based model similar to Latin America or is there a clear, unique “African” model? Furthermore, can Africa disrupt existing industries by taking advantage of new technologies to leapfrog previously required growth stages?"
----------------------------------------------------------------
WHY ANGOLA?
Angola is on pace to become Sub-Saharan Africa’s top economic powerhouse. The country is currently testing several manufacturing models in its current and future special economic zones. Aggressive investments are transforming Angola into a global shipping and logistics hub for Central Africa’s landlocked countries. Many companies, such as General Electric, are investing billions into career development and entrepreneurship financing. It's also proven to be one of the most political stable in Africa.
The opportunities for small and medium businesses are rich and immense.
