What we’re about
💃 Language can't be learned in a vacuum, so come join us at Gringo Language Academy to practice your Spanish with some real live humans! (Sorry, Big Green Bird...)
🗣️ Whether for school or work, an upcoming trip, to connect with new friends, or just not lose the skills you've worked so hard to attain, these outings and virtual events are a great way to sharp and share your love of the language.
😃 Regardless of your level, novice to native, we would love for you to join us and jugar o charlar un poquito.
☕ Whether "café y conversación" to start your day, or a movie night with "copas y juegos" afterwards, ven, y disfruta un poco con nosotros.

- Tertulias...¡de película! at the Tower in English y EspañolTower Theatre, Bend, OR
Presented by: BENDitas in collaboration with the Tower Theatre, Deschutes Public Library, and community partners.
Tertulias... ¡de película! is a community gathering born from the love of film and conversation in Spanish. We explore short films, documentaries, and movies that spark reflection on identity, art, daily life, and shared human experiences. For Welcoming Week, we’re opening this space to the entire community with a 100% bilingual event at the Tower Theatre. This special edition invites people of all backgrounds, origins, and identities, whether you speak Spanish, English, or both, to connect through cinema, food, and meaningful dialogue.
We plan to:- Create a space where everyone feels welcome to share ideas and reflections, regardless of language or background.
- Celebrate Bend’s cultural and linguistic diversity by offering a fully inclusive, bilingual experience.
- Share thoughts and ideas openly as a way to bring people together and foster community connection and find our commonalities.
