Volunteers Needed for School Supply Distribution Weekend-Event 1!

School Supply Distribution for the Jeffco Action Center, Sat. Aug 2nd, 8:30AM-12:45PM, 6 Volunteers are needed. We will be helping to staff the school supply distribution. We have helped them several times before and always enjoy the experience. You will make an impact by helping low-income students be prepared and excited to start school. This will help approx. 5000 students in Jefferson County, which has the highest number of identified homeless students in Colorado, over a 6-day distribution period. We are divided into areas serving different age groups of children. Parents pick up backpacks for their children which are filled with appropriate school supplies. Many families are having financial problems this year so we will definitely be making a positive difference for these school children! We are doing a 2-day School Supply Distribution weekend on Saturday & Sunday in two different parts of town!
We will be assisting our sponsoring organization, SVGD (Single Volunteers of Greater Denver) with this event. Once again, we will be Going Out For A very Good Cause!
