Creek Critter Searching at Mingo

Join us for this family-friendly event at Mingo Creek County Park! Kids and adults alike will be amazed at all the life living in the creek, from fish to crawdads to numerous insects still in their larva or nymph stage.
We will meet at Shelter 4 (by the historic Ebenezer Covered Bridge) at Mingo Creek County Park in Finleyville, PA promptly at 11 am. We will start with an orientation in water monitoring and freshwater macroinvertebrate identification, as well as safety procedures. We will then use provided nets and other supplies to collect animals in the creek for identification, which will aide us in determining the health of the creek.
The park is rich with trails, playgrounds, and shelters. Bring a lunch to picnic by the creek afterwards and then grab an ice cream at nearby Mingo Twist & Shake.
