Golang Talks - Kubernetes Basics && Rest APIs from SQL

Details
Hello Bristol Gophers 👋!
We're super excited to continue our series of Golang talks.
Speakers:
🗣️ Adam Bennett - Kubernetes: Basics and Use cases
Adam lives in Bristol and has done for nearly a decade now. He came for university and stayed to work here in this wonderful city. He has just shy of 4 years working as an SRE and K8s is his current specialism.
This talk is mainly focusing on what kubernetes is, what it's made of and when you would use it. I hope it's a good into to Kubernetes and how you can leverage it for a more scalable and resilient deployment.
🗣️ Rob Charlwood - Creating REST APIs from SQL with go generate
Fractional CTO | SRE Expert | Cloud Expert | CEO @ Supercharged
With nearly 20 years of engineering expertise spanning infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, software, and web development, Rob excels in designing scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud infrastructure. His portfolio boasts delivering exceptional projects for renowned organisations, including Lloyds Banking Group, Deloitte, BBC, HMRC, Google, The FA Premier League, FIFA, UEFA, Major League Soccer, Shell, and Mars.
Building REST APIs for data access is often repetitive and boilerplate-heavy—especially for data engineers who just want an efficient way of getting data in and out of relational databases. But what if we could automate the process—generating type-safe, efficient Go code directly from SQL queries? This talk explores how go generate can be leveraged to transform SQL statements into fully functional REST APIs.
