Why we love Go - The beauty of simplicity
Details
The Go community in Belgrade is back!
We’re reviving this group for the same reason it all started – because it’s fun. Go reminds us why we fell in love with programming in the first place: curiosity, simplicity, and the joy of building things.
Topics for this meetup:
- From ZX Spectrum to Go
What 8-bit programming taught us about building modern software
A journey from the days of the ZX Spectrum to modern Go, exploring how the spirit of simplicity and playfulness in early programming lives on in today’s tools.
- When Go meets Raspberry Pi: Smarter Fan Control
A hands-on project showing how Go can go beyond web and servers, straight into hardware. Learn how to add a MOSFET transistor to control a Raspberry Pi fan, and write a simple Go program (cross-compiled from PC) to switch it on and off only when needed.
Plus:
- Fun quiz with small surprises for the winners
- Networking and casual conversations with fellow Gophers
For future meetups, everyone is welcome to share – whether it’s a small trick, a side project, or a work experience. No need for “big lectures” – if it’s interesting to you, it will be interesting to others.
