This meetup is a combination of efforts from Andrew Clarkson, Eric Myhre, and myself to bring the Go/Rust communities together for talks and discussion.
Andrew has been working on Go/Rust interop, and will be presenting some information about this. He's also put together some pull requests on the xRust Exercism (https://github.com/exercism/xrust) (tutorial series) project available at https://github.com/Rust-Twin-Cities/flaming-octo-wookie
Kenneth Koski of the Rust Twin Cities (http://www.meetup.com/Rust-TC/) group is also working on putting together a Rust-related talk.
Alex Wauck has prepared a talk on REST APIs and testing, introducing some frameworks and practical networking examples. Synopsis: Testing REST APIs is good. Checking code coverage is good. Automation is good. Let's put all three together with testflight, gocov, and a tiny shell script!
If we have any time left, the remainder of the evening will be open for discussion/a mixer.
As usual, this wouldn't be possible without our sponsor, Insite Software, whose team (Craig, Jen, Joel) have been very supportive of the group!
Thanks to generous gopher Craig Erdmann and his trusty sidekicks Jen Rajkumar, Joel Wolfe, and the rest of their team, we'll be hosting the First Go/Rust Joint meetup at Insite Software's offices. Craig's company, Insite Software is letting us use their awesome space, and also providing beer, soda, and food. Please make sure to thank them when you get here!
Please get here on-time; the longer people stream in late, the longer our hosts have to wait downstairs with a key to bring you up!
