The Roman stoic and statesman Seneca the Younger once claimed that “life is a gift of the immortal Gods, but living well is the gift of philosophy.” But what does it mean to live well? Is a life well lived simply a life with more pleasure than pain or is it something deeper? Does what we do in life echo in eternity? This is the subject we will address at our next meetup.
Some of the questions we’ll try to cover will include:
1. What does it mean to live well?
2. Why should we care what our legacy is after we die?
3. Is the human experience ultimately just about minimising pain and maximising pleasure?
PLEASE NOTE:
