Under Winter Stars is a FREE Quarkshow learning event at the Belmar Library meeting room in Lakewood, Colorado on Thursday, March 26th at 6:00pm. Whether in a big city with a few stars or a small town with dark skies, learn how to identify the basic constellations and use them for directional orientation. In this 45-minute presentation for beginning stargazers you will learn:
- how the stars move in the sky
- how to identify the main navigational constellations
- what to look for in the winter sky
- tips for city stargazing
Join Natalie Carpenter as she shares her experience in astronomy, living in a dark skies town, and how learning the basic constellations helps with directional skills. Her goal is to have you learn to spot the basic winter constellations and how they signal the change of the season.
NO REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS FREE EVENT - seating in the Belmar Library meeting room is limited to 50 participants. Doors open at 5:45.
