The Golden Sands Chorus is an award winning Chapter of Sweet Adelines International. We have been an active part of Greater Long Beach since we chartered in 1952 (that’s 70 years!) We call ourselves “The Beach Girls” and currently have 30 women who meet every Tuesday night. Our music is arranged in the Barbershop style, which an American genre (4-part a cappella harmony). We sing a variety of music from all eras (Show Tunes, Patriotic, Christmas, Love Songs, Standards, and more…). We work hard at our craft and we love to perform! We sing at community events, compete against other chorus in the Spring, and have and annual show. Do you love to sing? Can you carry a tune? Our chorus may be just what you've been looking for. Women of all ages and vocal abilities who'd like to experience singing four-part a cappella harmony are invited to join us at our weekly rehearsal. The ability to read music is a plus, but is not required. Come at 6:45 pm so we can determine which part (tenor, lead, baritone or bass) you're best suited for. We'll give you a book of sheet music to use for the evening, then you'll join us for physical and vocal warm-ups and some four-part a cappella singing!
