Walk Description: Welcome to Golden's first New Moon walk.

The New Moon is observed when the moon is directly in line with the Sun and Earth, but out of our view from Earth, because the Moon's dark side is facing the Earth, making it appear dark. Many believe that the energy of the New Moon is a time of transformation, new beginnings, and personal growth. Thus, it is seen as a wonderful time to focus on healing and blessing, to discover our deepest and truest desires, to dream for both ourselves and the world in which we live. At this time of deep divisions and yearning for unity, we will walk with awareness of what feels "dark" in our selves and our world and name our desires for healing. This walk will be gentle and loving, whole-hearted and tender, allowing our bodies to move and our spirits to rest/restore in the energy of the New Moon.

The walk will follow a spiral path in to a center point and then unwind back to our starting point. The walk leader may offer some points of reflection along the way, as well as a quiet time at the center.

Walking Movement Leader: Saoirse Charis-Graves is the Organizer of GoldenWalks. She enjoys facilitating walking in community (and in nature) for mental, physical and spiritual health.

Schedule: We will meet at 7:00 pm at the northwest corner of the cemetery grounds. We’ll talk through the plan for the walk, answer any questions and lightly warm up.
