We meet at Tyler ranch Staging area of Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park.
Please use "Tyler ranch Staging area" for directions, Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park has different parking that very far from required place.
'Tyler ranch' is comparatively new addition to Pleasanton Ridge and very remote. last time we hiked her in 2021, Alltrails didn't have many trails, but now all main trails exist in Alltrails.
It will be challenging hike : We start from 2.3 miles uphill by Sunol Ridge trail and just before Sunol peak we take very remote trail Bay valley View trail. It will be downhill with steep sections with small uphills here and there. In the end of this trail we'll have lunch break .
After Lunch we'll take Grassland tr and Robertson Ranch tr that will be our second 2.0 hills . As result we reach Sunol Ridge tr where we continue hiking uphill to Sunol Peak. Unfortunately multiple antennas occupy Sunol peak, so we may skip the very top of this hill. Final section is downhill by Sunol Ridge tr that we have taken in the morning.
Our pace: 2.5 -2.8 per mile. Hike's length and elevation gain is based on AllTrails route estimate. Real one can be longer 1-2 miles .
It is good to have >2.0L water, sturdy hiking shoes , layers clothes ,rain gear, and lunch food.
It is not good idea to join the hike if you don't plan to complete full route.
