What we’re about
Ladies & Gents in our 50s & 60s etc are at a different stage of life than when we were younger. Let's get together and form a circle of friends to have fun with. Dining, theatre, movies, special events in and out of the city, happy hours, and even travel. The possibilities are endless and you are welcome to provide suggestions!
Please be sure to have a current photo of yourself on your profile! If you do not I will be unable to approve you. And please - if you cannot make a meetup after RSVPing - let me know via private message and update to not going so I am aware and able to give others the opportunity to go. No-shows will not be tolerated and you will be booted. Two late cancellations and you will be booted.
Due to the fact that the new owners of Meetup have decided to increase the Meetup Fees astronomically, I have created a place for voluntary contributions. If you love our little group, please feel free to contribute as little or as much as you can!
If you have not joined us for a meetup within 6 months of signing up and/or if you have not been to our Meetup page within that time (yes I can see who has been to the page and how long)
I hope that you come out and join us! Our group meetups are usually small, consisting of anywhere from 6-10 people, therefore, we really do get to know each other very well as I do not have huge crowds of people where you never get to know anyone, I just don't think that's fair to anyone.
Ours is a great group and ladies and gentlemen, who have a mutual respect for one another and have lots and lots of laughs! Hope to see you soon!
P.S. Be sure to allow notifications from Meetup, so you are able to see all the Meetup events as they come in.
PPS - check often for messages and updated. If you are on the waitlist for something, and I send you message that someone canceled and you are next, please be able to respond.

Turn the clock back to a time when steam engines pulled passenger cars along idyllic miles of train tracks through quaint hamlets and farmland to an awaited destination. Board the train for a trip along the banks of the Delaware River to visit Villa Milagro Vineyards.
First, enjoy a beautiful journey along the scenic Delaware River. After your narrated ride along the Delaware river, a short bus ride through rolling farmlands will bring you up the hill, 200 feet above and overlooking the Delaware, for your 60 minute stay at vineyard. There you will learn how grapes are grown using minimal inputs and other sustainable and conservation practices. Then into the winery to learn how grape juice is transformed into wine. You will see and learn about the equipment of wine making, crushers, destemmers, presses, pumps, tanks, barrels and bottling lines. You will learn how artisan, hand-crafted wines are made. Then into the Tasting Room to sample our wines paired with hors d'oeuvres. Purchase wines to take home or enjoy on your return train trip.
Then off you go for another scenic train ride back to the station, but not before passing the Ol' Susquehanna Mine! You are welcome to detrain at the Mine free of charge and spend as much time as you like relaxing in the picnic grove and then catch a later train home (trains come every 1 1/2 hours) If you would like to enjoy your wine with a picnic, bring a lunch and relax at picnic tables in tree groves at the Ol'Susquehanna Mine/Corn Maze grove or at the station in Phillipsburg where you originally parked.
SOME HELPFUL NOTES:
First, here is the link so you can explore the website on your own:
https://877trainride.com/winery.htm
https://877trainride.com/faq.htm*IMPORTANT: The physical address for the train station is 100 Elizabeth Street, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. I mapped it at 1 hour and 35 minutes from my home – so please be sure to take driving time into consideration when leaving that day AS THEY REQUEST THAT EVERYONE BE AT LEAST 1/2 HOUR EARLY DUE TO PARKING CONSIDERATIONS. Which means, if you live 1 hour and 35 minutes away, you should leave your home at least two hours early - by 10:00 am - giving yourself plenty of time for traffic and parking)* See attached for parking information: https://877trainride.com/parking.htm
Tickets are $45.00 pp with a small service charge. Once you are ready to order your tickets, from this link https://www.877trainride.com/wineticketoffice.html go down to the middle of the page to where it says "Warren County Winery Train". Click on that. You will then see a bunch of dates. Click on 05/17/2025, and then 12:00 PM. PLEASE BE SURE TO CLICK ON THE 05/17/2025 - 12PM DATE AS I CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE IF YOU CHOOSE THE WRONG DATE OR TIME! You will still have a good time - just not with us :-) Under choose a ticket click "Winery Train" and your number of tickets and then add to cart. Double check everything is good and then click "Send Order (Secure)". Thereafter, you will click the "I don't want to register" button and put in your information personal information, how referred (just put "friend") and then add your credit card info, etc. and click the little box under your three-digit security code acknowledging that only alcoholic beverages from Villa Milagro are allowed on the train, then click on "send order now", this will bring you to a confirmation screen. Confirm everything is good and then click "confirm order". Whatever you do, DO NOT hit the send key twice - give it time, it takes a few seconds - if you click twice, you run the risk of duplicating your order! Once complete, you will then be emailed two confirmations with Order # and a receipt (it may take a few minutes to get the email). You must have this Order # and receipt available to take with you to get your tickets at the train station (either by phone or printed).
One More Thing - please feel free to take a picnic lunch or a snack with you to enjoy on the train, at the vineyard or you can stay at the picnic grove to wait for another train.
This is a wonderful day trip! Hope you can come out!

- Dinner at the Philadium and Game Show Palooza! The Philadium, Philadelphia, PA
Join us at the one and only Philadium in South Philadelphia (across from Chicky & Pete's) for great food and drinks and then let's play Game Show Palooza!! It's kinda like Quizzo, Trivia and Music Bingo all rolled into one, with a twist! Lots of fun! And best of all - it's FREE!! I love how sometimes it's random trivia knowledge, sometimes skills and others, just luck!! And no pens or paper required!!
The Philadium Restaurant & Bar - The triumphs, the heartbreaks, the lucky bounces, and the bad breaks. The Philadium opened its doors in 1971 with a single goal: to serve and celebrate the people of Philadelphia. There is no better way to do that than through our sports teams. No matter if it’s The Birds, the Phils, Flyers, Sixers, Nova, or the Owls- we give our teams everything we’ve got. But our teams and our city are nothing without the stadiums that have set the scene for history. The Spectrum. The Vet. These names hearken back to some of the biggest moments in the history of sports and have bonded generations of people in the city of Philadelphia.
