Format is 2 Person Team Alternate Shot, Net. $20 per person buy in, winning team takes all! Must have GHIN # and be a member of Golf SL,UT to compete in $ games. USGA Rules are in effect unless noted otherwise prior to tee off and check scorecard for local rules as well.
What the hell is this you say?
Two players on a team alternate hitting the same ball, with one player teeing off on odd-numbered holes and the other on even-numbered holes. You alternate shots until the ball is holed. NO CONSECUTIVE STROKES by the same player. Player A tees off on odd number holes and Player B tees off on even holes.
Example:
Player A tees off on Odd holes, Player B will hit the second shot, Player A the third and so on. On the even holes Player B will tee off and the alternating pattern continues.
What Ball to Use:
Player teeing off determines what ball is being used for that hole. No switching out balls during play unless, lost ball / water, O.B. or new hole. Players whose turn is next after lost ball / O.B. can determine which ball to use until next lost ball or hole is completed. 2 STROKE PENALTY FOR BREACH OF RULE. These are just busy words keeping you busy.
How About Handicaps?
For handicaps, we will use a percentage of each player's course handicap from preferred tees to calculate the teams handicap. This method will use 60% of the lower handicap player's handicap and 40% of the higher handicap player's handicap, then add those two values together and round to the nearest whole number. This is busy work for me!
Example:
If one player has a course handicap of 10 and the other has a course handicap of 20, the team handicap would be calculated as follows:
- 60% of 10 = 6
- 40% of 20 = 8
- 6 + 8 = 14. The team handicap is 14.
Been wanting to do this for a while and lets see how we all do.
