Are you enjoying Korean Spring? I hope you enjoyed the beautiful Cherry Blossom in Korea. Time flies and May is comming just from there. :)
We'll have an event on Saturday, May 9th, at 6:00 PM.
This time I'll bring Clos du val, Merlot, Napa Valley 2017.
Many people say Merlot is an easier red grape than other tough grapes lilke Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Shiraz, etc. I also agree with it. Merlot has shorter time to harvest and yield, and is not so picky about soils. However, it doesn't guarantee good wine always.
The right bank of Bordeaux is the most famous region for Merlot, as far as I know. The most famous Bordeaux Merlot wine is Petrus and then Le pin. Both are from Pomerol, and not tasted by me. :) You may know why. If you want to share a good Bordeaux Merlot, please bring it and compare with others.
I haven't tasted Merlot from Clos du val winery. This winery is mainly growing Cabernet Sauvignon and I tasted that a few times. :)
Bring you own bottle. This time any Merlot wine is recommended.
