Let’s walk around the Lafayette Reservoir together on the paved Lakeside Nature Trail. This loop trail is 2.7 miles and includes a few rolling hills in an oak-studded landscape with estimated total elevation gain of 170 feet. We will be walking at a relatively easy 25 – 30 minute mile pace which allows us to get some steps in and look at the beautiful views and interesting wildlife. We may spot deer, ospreys, pelicans, or wild turkeys. Trail is a mix of sun and partial shade.

Arrival: Plan on arriving 15 minutes before the walk start time to give yourself time to pay for parking at the self-service payment kiosks ($2 per hour, credit/debit card only) and walk over to our meeting location near the parking lot bathrooms to the far right (when facing the reservoir). Walk will start promptly at 9 am.

Anticipate warm weather and bring water, wear sun protection (sunglasses, hat and/or sunscreen), and comfortable walking shoes. Hiking poles are optional.

Dogs: Friendly dogs on 6’ leash are allowed (woof).

Optional: Bring a lunch or snack to eat after the walk. We will find a shady spot with a picnic table.
