Let's head out into the night to try to see the Northern Lights. There is a potential for seeing the Aurora on the night of Sept 1st, into the 2nd. There is a large CME (coronal mass ejection) that left the Sun on Saturday and is headed straight to Earth. We don't know the arrival, but models put it at 1pm on Monday, +/- 7 hours. NOAA issued a G3 storm watch.

I will be keeping an eye on the numbers throughout the daylight hours on Monday, and make a call on Monday evening as to where/whether/when we are heading out. If you want to join the hunt, join our WhatsApp group. (If the link is not working, check the comments, as I'll be updating it often)

Common Questions: When/Where/How long/Can we see it?/Will I see it with my eyes?
Answer: Aurora hunting is an unpredictable sport. We try to optimize for all the conditions, but in the end, Mother Nature is Mother Nature. (And we HAVE seen it, multiple times, in the last year). We will know approximately an hour in advance. Best thing is to be prepared to hop in the car when the call is made.
