Let's solve a murder mystery on Whidbey Island (a weekend getaway)

Prepare to join an amazing weekend getaway to Whidbey Island!

There’s a “murder” mystery afoot on Whidbey Island. Every year, the town of Langley transforms into a murder mystery for the weekend. The entire town participates! Local business pass out clues, while townsfolk roam the streets in character, letting you meet and interrogate them. There is a special gazette for the event, a murder scene to investigate, a coroner announcing their findings and things to observe. You learn as much as you can, and hopefully don't miss a vital clue, before coming up with the final solution. Those that got it right, can win some prizes.

I've been organizing this trip for the last 6 years (and won twice :)). Having done it as both a day trip and a weekend trip, the weekend is way more fun! There is just so much sleuthing to do and cool little shops to explore, that one day is too short to enjoy it fully. We did it as a weekend trip last 3 years, and the feedback was that we should do this again and rent a place together. So - we are doing it!

The Details
I'm renting a gorgeous house overlooking the ocean to serve as our base. We can check in on Friday. Meet up for breakfast and start exploring on Saturday. Dinner together on Saturday to compare our findings and formulate theories. Spend a lovely evening & morning at the beach, and head out to finish the sleuthing on Sunday.

We'll have plenty of time to collect a few dozen clues throughout the town, then analyze them, chat with live characters, and put our heads together over dinner to really solve the whodunit! Also Langley is a lovely quaint sea town with cute little shops and eateries, and sometimes you can see whales from the main street.

Dressing up is encouraged. Don your Sherlock Home's best :)

Detailed Itinerary

Friday

• Check in. Meet people. Make new friends.
• Potluck dinner

Saturday

• Have breakfast together (optional) at the house
• Head to town to do the sleuthing. We'll meet at a coffee shop around noon to read the gazette.
• Explore the town and gather the clues.
• Dinner at a restaurant 5 mins outside of town
• Spend the evening at the house playing games, doing more sleuthing or just relaxing on the porch overlooking the ocean.

Sunday

• Check out is 10 am
• Head to town to finish our sleuthing. Usually this is the day we want to talk to all the suspects (characters) to test our theories.
• Around 3pm, we'll meet at a local spot to finalize our Whodunnits and fill out the guess cards.
• 5pm- Join the whole town for the big reveal

Refund Policy
Full refund if we cancel our reservation at the house for a full refund.
Not refundable otherwise. However, if you paid and cannot go, you can transfer your reservation to someone else (and get payment from them).
