Detailed Agenda

6:30 PM - Reducing BigQuery bills with BI Engine capacity orchestration, Marton Kodok

This session will deliver best practices and recommendations for tuning BI Engine for your existing BigQuery workloads for cheaper and faster queries. Learn how we at REEA are orchestrating BI Engine reservations, on a 5TB dataset, with big cost savings and accelerated queries. We are going to address the top considerations when to turn on BI Engine, how to use cloud orchestration for making this an automatic process, and combined with BigQuery and Data Studio query complexity that might save precious development time, lower bills and speed up queries.

7:00 PM - The AI in Your Pocket: Building Offline Gemini Apps with the Browser, Olorunfemi Davis

This session covers the groundbreaking approach to running Gemini Nano directly in the browser. This enables a new class of offline-first, off-device web applications and Chrome Extensions, addressing critical needs for speed, privacy, and accessibility. I will demonstrate how to leverage the suite of built-in AI APIs, including the Prompt, Translator, Summarizer, and Writer APIs, to create high-performance, privacy-centric experiences.

7:30 PM - Build high-performance apps for the edge with Wasm in Go, Paul Gledhill

This session explores building high-performance edge applications with Go and WebAssembly (Wasm). Learn about new Wasm features in Go 1.24 and how to use Google Cloud Service Extensions to run custom logic at the edge for security, traffic management, and performance.
