Join us for a fun, informal meetup where we’ll explore building engaging apps for smartwatches, from integrating with phone apps to showing off what’s new with the Complications API and Compose. We’ll also share tips on UX best practices, how AI-powered tools can help you level up your wearable projects, and—of course—how to make sure everyone knows what time it is.

In this talk, you will learn how to make your first Wear OS app, the guidelines and what’s new on the platform, learn about Complications API, how to use Compose to build it, integrate your existing phone app with it, and, most importantly: tell people what time it is!

We will also cover how developers can create beautiful, efficient and engaging experiences for Wear OS. In the talk you will learn about UX considerations, development best practices and using AI-powered tools to build wearable experience."

Yuri is an itinerant software developer, with background in Tech and Finance in Europe, the US and Australia. Developer on the Wear Engineering team, and open source maintainer of libraries such as OkHttp and Horologist.

With a diverse background in software engineering ranging from usability to encryption, Greg has worked in a variety of roles and across many different teams at Google over the last two decades including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Maps and now Wear OS.
