11:15 AM: 11:15 AM - 11:45 AM | Adaora Onwumelu - The Cybersecurity Layer Every AI Builder Needs: Building Secure AI Products in the Agentic Era
SMECC Meeting Rooms A
AI is moving from systems that simply generate answers to systems that can reason, make decisions, access data, and take action. For builders, that shift creates an important question: how do you build AI products that are not only useful, but secure and trustworthy?
In this practical, builder-focused session, Adaora Onwumelu; cybersecurity professional, AI governance practitioner, and founder building Synthara, an AI-powered cybersecurity education platform; explores the security considerations that should enter the product conversation before an AI system reaches production.
Using lessons from building Synthara as a real-world case study, attendees will learn how to think about AI security across identity, data, permissions, model behavior, tool access, human oversight, and monitoring.
Rather than treating cybersecurity as a final checklist, this session reframes security as part of the product architecture and user experience.
Attendees will leave with a practical framework they can use when designing or evaluating AI-powered products and agentic workflows, including questions such as:
What data can the AI access?
What actions and permissions does it have?
Who authorized those actions?
What happens when the model makes a wrong or unsafe decision?
Where is human oversight necessary?
How do we detect misuse and monitor an AI system after deployment?
Whether you're a developer, founder, product builder, student, or technical professional entering the AI era, this session provides a practical way to build, secure, and scale AI with trust designed in from the beginning.
11:15 AM: 11:15 AM - 11:45 AM Jitendra Gupta — MCP: The USB-C of AI — Connecting AI Agents to the Real World
SMECC Meeting Rooms B
An LLM can write code, explain concepts and answer questions — but what happens when you want it to use your tools and actually get things done?
This session introduces Model Context Protocol (MCP) through a simple developer-first approach. We’ll explore how MCP enables AI applications and agents to connect with external tools, data and services through a common interface — much like USB-C made it easier to connect different devices.
Starting with a simple AI application, we’ll progressively give it access to real-world capabilities such as files, APIs, developer tools and application data. We’ll see what happens when an AI moves from simply generating an answer to using tools, gathering information, reasoning over the results and taking action.
The session will also cover the basic architecture of MCP, how MCP servers and tools work, and where this technology fits into the rapidly evolving agentic AI ecosystem.
No deep AI or ML background is required. If you can build a basic application and are curious about what comes next for AI, this session is for you.

12:00 PM: 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM | Animesh Kumar — The Cybersecurity Layer Every AI Builder Needs
SMECC Meeting Rooms A
As enterprises move from experimenting with AI to deploying autonomous agents in production, the attack surface is changing just as fast as the defenses. When ransomware hit MGM Resorts in 2023, it knocked out reservations, room keys, and slot machines for over 10 days a warning sign that manual, rule-based security can't keep pace with modern, AI-accelerated attacks. This session covers how machine learning detects anomalies and automates threat response in real time, how attackers are using generative AI for smarter phishing and social engineering, and how organizations can build responsible-AI guardrails governance, model evaluation, human oversight into agentic systems from day one, so speed doesn't come at the cost of safety.

SMECC Meeting Rooms A
1:45 PM: 1:45 PM - 2:15 PM Swapnil Kale | Private by Design: On-Device ML for Smarter Mobile Experiences
SMECC Meeting Rooms B
Modern mobile applications offer an expanding range of capabilities, but greater functionality can also make it harder for users to quickly find the features they need. In financial applications, where customers frequently return to functions such as payments, transfers, and other routine services, intelligent personalization can simplify navigation. However, personalization should not require sensitive behavioral data to leave the user's device.
This session explores a privacy-first approach to predictive feature navigation using on-device machine learning. Attendees will see how interaction patterns can be processed locally to identify relevant features and surface them at the right time, while keeping behavioral information on the device. The implementation uses ML Kit on Android and Core ML on iOS to perform real-time inference without depending on round-trip cloud requests.
The session examines the architectural decisions involved in bringing machine learning directly into mobile applications, including model training pipelines, deployment to resource-constrained devices, local inference, optimization, and testing. It also demonstrates how an on-device architecture can strengthen data privacy, reduce dependence on backend inference infrastructure, provide responsive predictions, and continue supporting intelligent experiences when network connectivity is limited.
Using mobile banking as a practical example, attendees will learn how this pattern can help users discover frequently needed functions while maintaining stronger control over their data. The same approach can extend beyond financial services to other feature-rich mobile applications where recurring temporal behavior can help guide personalization.
Developers will leave with practical strategies for evaluating when on-device ML is appropriate, integrating models into Android and iOS applications, optimizing inference for mobile environments, and testing whether predictions meaningfully improve feature discovery. The goal is to demonstrate how mobile teams can build intelligent experiences that balance personalization, performance, operational efficiency, and privacy by design.
1:45 PM: 1:45 PM - 2:15 PM Yashas Majmudar | Building Apps Like LEGO: I Inherited an AI-Generated Flutter App. Here's What It Cost Me
SMECC Meeting Rooms C
This talk is about the architectural patterns that make AI-assisted development actually scale, instead of quietly compounding technical debt one generated feature at a time. A genuinely good Flutter app is modular before you ever hand a prompt to an AI tool: auth, networking, logging, and your design system should be bricks with clear boundaries, so AI can generate a feature that snaps into an existing contract instead of inventing its own. I'll walk through what counts as a brick inside a single app, what happens when those boundaries do not exist, and how the same discipline lets you extract shared packages cleanly once a second or third app shows up. Along the way, I'll cover what most teams share versus keep separate, the tradeoffs between one core package and several, and the mechanics of managing it with a monorepo.
You'll leave with a concrete framework for setting up the architectural guardrails that let you build with AI faster, without paying for it later.
Key takeaways:
- Which modules (auth, networking, logging, design system) need clear boundaries before AI tools start generating features around them
- What AI-generated or fast-moving code commonly gets wrong architecturally, and how to set up guardrails that prevent it upfront
- A practical framework for what to share versus keep separate across a family of Flutter apps
- The tradeoffs between a single core package and multiple split packages, and how to choose
- How to structure a monorepo so apps, and AI-generated features, adopt core changes on their own schedule
2:00 PM: BITCON PANEL - From Summit to Scale: What Organizing Atlanta's 404 Summit Taught Us About Building Community- Speakers: Sasha Smith
LOCATION: MLK, JR Chapel Nave [Auditorium]
The BIT Atlanta board just wrapped the 404 Summit, three days of workshops, a student hackathon, career coaching, and receptions powered almost entirely by volunteers. 3:00 PM: 3:00 PM - 3:30 PM Harsh Kathiriya | Unleashing Autonomous Agents: Building with Google AI Studio and the Antigravity Harness
SMECC Meeting Rooms B
The era of conversational AI is evolving rapidly into the era of autonomous agents. With the release of Google Antigravity, developers now have access to the exact agent harness that powers Google's own internal models. But how do you take these agents from a playground concept to a secure, executing environment?
This session is a deep dive into building autonomous, multi-step agents using Google AI Studio and the Gemini API's new Antigravity capabilities. We will explore how to instantiate general-purpose managed agents that can reason, execute Bash/Python code, manage files, and browse the web from inside a secure Google-hosted Linux sandbox. We will walk through the architecture of tool-use loops, automatic context compaction for long-running sessions, and how to define custom functions to connect Antigravity agents to your own external APIs and databases.
By the end of this session, developers will know how to move beyond simple prompts and build agents that can autonomously plan, act, and verify complex technical tasks.
3:30 PM: 3:00 PM - 3:30 PM Bhargav Trivedi | Why Did My Agent Do That? Building Explainable, Trustworthy Agentic AI for Commerce
SMECC Meeting Rooms C
AI agents are moving from answering questions to acting on behalf of users: they interpret intent, rank options, and recommend decisions in real time. Commerce is one of the first domains where this shift is happening at scale, and it exposes a critical gap. When users cannot see why an agent made a choice, trust collapses. Regulations such as the EU Digital Services Act are also turning explainability into a baseline requirement.
This session presents an architecture for building explainability directly into agentic systems, using AI-powered retail search as the working example. The framework has five interdependent components. A Goal Engine disambiguates user intent, and a Perception Layer interprets and explains queries. A Decision Core surfaces the reasoning behind both recommendations and exclusions. A Memory Store makes personalization auditable, and a Feedback Loop connects explanations to measurable outcomes.
Developers will see how this works in practice: transparent preference controls in the interface, an explainability layer built with LIME, SHAP, and attention visualization, semantically aware backend ranking, and privacy-preserving analytics using federated learning. The talk also defines what makes an agent trustworthy. That includes autonomy that is honest about its limits, goal-directed behavior tied to visible motives, calibrated transparency, and conversational interfaces that let users ask "why did you show me this?" and get a meaningful answer.
Finally, the session makes the engineering and business case for explainability. It lowers user anxiety, strengthens retention, reduces technical debt from opaque models, and improves observability for debugging and optimizing agent pipelines. These patterns apply to agents built on any stack, including Gemini and Vertex AI.
Attendees will leave with a practical blueprint for building agents that are secure, responsible, and trustworthy at scale.
