We are calling for speakers on "TIME SERIES MACHINE LEARNING MEETS FORECASTING" welcoming Researchers, Industry Practitioners, Consultants, and Software Vendors, as well as work-in-progress reports from BSc/MSc/PhD students.
The next meeting of the working group on
FORECASTING METHODS of the German OR Society (GOR)
will be held on Thu & Fri 26th - 27th 2026 in Hamburg, Germany.

We invite speakers to submit proposals across topical research areas, including but not limited to:
- Time Series Forecasting, Classification, Clustering
- Foundation Models for Time Series Data
- Shallow and Deep Neural Networks
- Machine Learning (ML) methods
- Global and Local model training
- Method selection & Meta-Learning
- Active and Cost-Sensitive Learning
- Empirical evaluations, metrics and design
- Properties and limitations of benchmarks (e.g. M1-5, GIFT-Eval)
- Judgment in Forecasting and Time Series ML
- Applications, case studies and use cases from practice
- Systems, Open Source software & software development
- Organisation & processes in research and ractice
- any other topics in Forecasting & Time Series ML
Talks can be 15, 30 or 45 mins long. Please send your informal proposal with title, short abstract in German or English, and your contact details to s.crone@lancaster.ac.uk by 01.10.2026!
Our events are informal and pleasant meetings to present ongoing research, exchange views and network with peers in the topical area of forecasting and time series , with a social event on the evening of the 26th. The event will be free-of-charge to all GOR members and speakers, and charge only a small fee for non-members (PhDs/students €20, academics €100, industry €200, industry group €340). PhD/Student funding available - pls enquire.
