Cloud and Beer - AWS Focus

to this year’s first physical meetup in the Göteborg Cloud Computing meetup group. We have really been looking forward to seeing you all again. This time we will be in Solita’s newly renovated office in Gothenburg. We will start with some casual conversation, while enjoying some light food and tasty local beer (non-alcoholic alternatives will be served as well :-) ).

First up is Zeeshan from Solita’s Data Unit who will give us an insight into how the auditing and monitoring tools provided by AWS can be used to track user and system activity, enabling business users to make more informed decisions. The presentation will cover how one can utilise CloudTrail for auditing an S3 bucket, Lambda for data processing/transformation and CloudWatch for monitoring processed logs.

Next up is our confessed data nerd Theo Tolv from our friends at AWS. Many of us store large volumes of data on S3 including application data, logs from AWS services, and that CSV with important billing information you got from the finance team. In this presentation Theo will show how Amazon Athena can be leveraged to run queries against all your data stored on S3 and how it can be done inexpensively, without any upfront work.
