Talks:
How we used an API in an unintended way to promote primary shards and save $12k
We discovered that after a rolling cluster restart, our snapshot storage costs went up significantly. This presentation explains why it happened and how we solved it. We believe this general problem exists for all large-scale Elasticsearch clusters.
Speaker: Alexander Gunnarsson (Meltwater)
Using Elasticsearch as a graph database
Recorded Future uses Elasticsearch as a backend to power our Intelligence Graph, a system of interconnected entities in the Threat Intelligence space. We will give you a high level view of how we make the magic happen, how Elasticsearch enables us and where it sometimes falls short.
Speaker: Kaspar Helldén (Recorded Future)
Live measuring of query performance
At Meltwater we can get very heavy search queries. For cost and stability reasons we need to be able to measure and predict the impact of a query before it is executed. We will present how we implemented per query resource utilization measurements in an Elasticsearch plugin and how it helps us identify and improve the heaviest queries.
Speakers: Tobias Färdig and Mattias Österberg (Meltwater)
A big thank you to the host for this evening, Meltwater!
