AWS AMI Factory with Packer + Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional

Welcome to the fourth session of the HashiCorp User Group in Göteborg!

An evening of learning, free food and drinks, stickers, and a chance to get certification vouchers and a printed edition of the book “Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional Study Guide (AWS edition)”! 👨‍🎓📚🍕🍹

This time we have the following two sessions presented by no less than two HashiCorp Ambassadors!

Session 1: How to build an AMI Factory with HashiCorp Packer & HCP Packer Registry

The objective of this session is to showcase how to build an AMI Factory with HashiCorp Packer & HCP Packer Registry. It will also showcase how great is the integration between HCP Packer Registry, Packer Community and HCP Terraform (including Packer Run Tasks, and Webhooks Notifications for AMI Events). AMIs are the foundation of any successful migration to cloud including AWS EC2 compute instances. The AMI build-process is not unified and centralized among our customers and suffers from lots of pain points.

Session 2: Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional Certification

In this session you will learn about what the Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional certification is and why it is so much fun! This is a hands-on exam where you solve real problems involving Terraform configurations and AWS resources. There will be demos where we solve similar problems to what the exam contains. At the end of the session there will be a raffle with a chance to win a printed book covering the contents of the exam.
