Remembering Alex | Paddle out

If you had the chance to meet Alex, you’d know he was one of the kindest, most passionate, and genuine souls around.

Whether it was running marathons, climbing at the Incredible Hulk, surfing 6-foot waves in Rockaway, or most recently mountaineering Denali—the highest peak in North America—Alex gave everything he had, every single time. He was endlessly curious and always pushing himself to new heights.

On June 2, Alex passed away on Denali doing what he loved.

To honor his life and spirit, we’re organizing a paddle out in his memory. Everyone is welcome. If you have a special memory or story to share about Alex, we’ll be holding space in the circle that day to do just that.

Time: Meet at 4:30, paddle out by 5pm
Location: Rockaway Beach, 90th Street

We will have a few boards supplied by Phase Surf and Nigel. Please RSVP and let us know if you would like to borrow one.

Please bring a flower with you to paddle out with or multiple to share with others :)
