Rip's City River Ride IV

Details

Meet your event host, "Rip" at the confluence of the Clackamas and Willamette rivers in Clackamette Park. At the conclusion of our ride, you will have the option of enjoying Happy Hour with the group at the new Corner 14 Foodcarts Spirits & Brew in Oregon City.

There will be bike trails and dedicated bike lanes much of the way. The ride forms a loop, covering both sides of the Willamette River. We will ride the Trolley Trail from Oregon City to Sellwood, followed by the challenging River View Cemetery climb at our half way point.

After the cemetery, it will be downhill on the Terwilliger Trail, winding through the woods along the edge of Tryon Creek Park. In downtown Lake Oswego we will find our way to George Rogers Park and the William Stafford Trail followed by a slow cruise along the river on Old River Rd. Then its an easy ride into Oregon City on A Street and across the old arch bridge with its jaw-dropping view of Willamette Falls for our grand finale!

Series Description:
Join your event host, Rip, for a series of rides that form a loop, covering both sides of the Willamette River. There are bike trails and dedicated bike lanes much of the way. The route will vary only slightly each time we ride, but will always form a loop from one side of the river to the other, with a planned restroom break half way. The route is about 25 miles with 1200 feet of climbing. Nearly 1/3 of the total climb being over the two mile stretch of our ride through the cemetery. At the conclusion of our ride, you will have the option of enjoying Happy Hour with the group at a venue that is always near the place we start the route.
