What we’re about

Have you ever wanted to see the rings of Saturn, the craters on the Moon, or the breathtaking splendor of the Milky Way with your own eyes? Then Gothenburg Stargazers is for you!

Whether you're a seasoned amateur astronomer or have never looked through a telescope before, you are welcome here.

Our goal is to get away from the city lights, share in the wonder of the universe, and learn together. For our events, I will be bringing my high-quality Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope, which we will all get to share. You are welcome to bring your own telescope, but absolutely do not need to own one to participate!

We'll plan meetups around interesting celestial events—from planetary oppositions and meteor showers to simply exploring the phases of the moon. Our gatherings will be relaxed, friendly, and filled with a sense of awe.

All you need to bring is your curiosity. Join us to explore the final frontier from our little corner of Sweden!

Please note: this is a very weather-dependent activity. While we may schedule events quite far in advance, they will always be contingent on good weather and clear skies the day of the event. Sometimes we will be forced to cancel or postpone our events on short notice.
