Hej everyone!

The closest supermoon (when a full moon occurs at the Moon's closest approach to Earth) of the year will be on November 5, giving us a great opportunity to see the Moon in as much detail as possible. It's called the Hunter's Moon because it's the first full moon after the Harvest Moon. This will also be a great opportunity to watch the moonrise, as it will appear especially large and beautiful against the horizon.

We will meet at 15:30 to watch the moonrise and stay until 18:30 or so. Anyone who can't make it at exactly 15:30 is welcome to join when they can. We will also get dinner together afterwards for anyone who wants to join us for that.

You don't need any special equipment to attend this event (just warm clothes :)) We will bring a telescope that you are welcome to look through.

When you first sign up for this event, you will be placed on the waiting list and we will move you to the attending list if we have space to accomodate more people. We will send you the exact location in Gothenburg where we will meet when we move you onto the attending list.

What to bring:

  • Plenty of water, soda, or other non-alcoholic beverages

  • Blankets and warm clothes

  • Something to sit on (if desired)

  • Binoculars (if you have them)

As always, keep in mind that stargazing is very dependent on the weather, so we may need to cancel or reschedule on short notice if conditions aren't right for viewing. I will keep an eye on the forecast and give the go or no go ~24 hours before the event.

I hope to see all of you there! Happy stargazing :)
