Meet interesting people. Practice speaking. Get a little better every other Monday.

Gothenburg Toastmasters is an international community of people who meet every other Monday to practice public speaking, communication and leadership — and to meet people they might not otherwise have met.

Some come to become more confident presenting at work. Some want to become genuinely great speakers. Some want to challenge themselves. And some simply enjoy having an interesting group of people to meet every other Monday.

And no — it’s not a debate club. You don’t need to be outgoing, exceptionally articulate, or already comfortable speaking in front of people. That’s rather the point of coming.

What happens at a meeting?

We start with a quick welcome and introduction to the evening, so you’ll always know what’s going on.

🎤 Prepared speeches
A few members give short speeches they’ve been working on — personal stories, interesting ideas, something funny, persuasive, or simply something they want to get better at presenting.

☕ Coffee & conversation
Halfway through, we take a break. Grab a coffee, meet some of the members, ask questions about the club, or just have a chat.

🎲 Table Topics
After the break comes our spontaneous speaking session. You’ll get a question or prompt and have a minute or two to see where it takes you. Guests are welcome to volunteer — but you absolutely don’t have to.

💬 Friendly feedback
We finish by giving speakers constructive feedback on what worked and what they might try next time. There’s no teacher and no grading — we help each other improve.

Your first visit

You don’t need to prepare anything.

Come at 18:15, say hello, grab a seat and meet a few people before we get started. We’ll explain everything as we go, and you can participate as much or as little as you like.

Nobody is going to unexpectedly drag you onto a stage.
Your first two visits are completely free, so you can get a feel for the club before deciding whether you’d like to join.
