First meet up - Founding Meeting

This will be a founding meeting as this is a brand new group. Come along for a drink and a chat to discuss which novels we should add to our schedule in the future, potential meeting places (if Old Red Lion doesn’t feel suitable for nuanced literature discussions) and how often we should meet.

Most of the people in this group won’t know each other yet so please don’t feel as though it would be awkward to come by yourself!

I hope this will be a small to medium size group of less than 20 people. I’ve been to some large book club meet ups at popular noisy pubs and found it a challenge to have a good discussion in that setting. If you love to get into the details and you like for everyone to be able to hear each other, this is the club for you!

I am putting “Shirley” by Charlotte Brontë down as an option to read ahead of this meeting in case people are feeling motivated to get started right away. If you join the group, please put in the comments for this event if you plan to read the book ahead of the meeting (if nobody does we will save it for next time!)
