About us

A free monthly meetup for anyone in or curious about government contracting in the Raleigh, Cary, and Durham area.

We meet the last Wednesday of every month. The format rotates: GovCon Trivia Night, Bids & Brews, and The GovCon Social.

No panels. No slide decks. Nobody is pitching you anything. Just a room of people who work in this space, contractors, subs, primes, the accountants and bankers and consultants who support them, and plenty of people still figuring out where they fit.

Who this is for

Small business owners already doing federal, state, or local work
Anyone curious about government contracting who doesn't know where to start
People looking for teaming partners, subs, or primes
Service providers who work with contractors

You do not need to know anything about government contracting to come. A good number of people at every event are brand new, and the whole point is that you leave knowing a few more people than when you walked in.

What to expect

Free to attend. Show up alone or bring people. On trivia nights you get assigned to a team, which is the fastest way to meet five strangers you'd otherwise never talk to.

The federal fiscal year ends September 30. We're marking it with trivia.

You'll be put on a team when you arrive that's the point, you meet people you wouldn't otherwise talk to. Four rounds of government contracting questions, from basics up to the Final Bid round where teams wager their points. There's a real traveling trophy.

You don't need to know anything about government contracting. Plenty of people in the room are brand new, and the questions start easy. The trivia is mostly an excuse to get a good crowd in one place.

Who shows up: small business owners, contractors, subs, the accountants and bankers and consultants who work with them, and a lot of people who've just heard the government buys everything and want to know what that means for them.

No panels. No slide decks. Nobody is pitching you.
