What we’re about

According to the textbook definition, “governance” refers to the processes of interactions of an organized society (whether those processes be those of legislation, social norms, or customary power). It can refer to the processes within a family, a tribe, or a nation (whether formal or informal). It may be conducted by way of the government of a state or by a market.

This group is about having philosophical discussion and organizing ourselves around salon-styled events. We are looking for inspired speakers and audiences interested in self-examination—and this is with the purpose of exploring the form of our future governance mechanisms.

Despite the depth of our questions, and despite the distant horizons at which they aim, we also understand that through a self-examination of our values today, we are also activating ourselves towards our future. We remember that the nerds once revolutionized technology and communications; they revolutionized the market. We are now ripe with the courage required to revolutionize governance—and to the same degree.
