This meetup explores how to scale a GovTech startup and break out of the single product, single sales channel and single customer syndrome.
What are unique challenges for scaling GovTech startups?
Is scaling a mindset, a predetermined process, or simply a question of investment to put an experienced sales force in place?
What role does opportunism, timing or networking play?
Is overseas expansion really possible for GovTech platforms?
How can collaboration develop multiple sales channels?
To discuss these questions and more we have three Startups that have scaled or in the process of scaling into larger companies.
HPE will highlight how their infrastructure can used to scale and what makes a good Startup infrastructure provider collaboration.
Presenters:
HPE (http://hp.com/uk/publicsector)- Jeremy Atkins, Head of HPE Pointnext Consulting Sales EMEA for Public Sector & Healthcare
"How can HPE help GovTech Startups to Scale"
Hewlett Packard Enterprise has been selling into the Public Sector for over 60 years, but who we sell to and how is changing dramatically. I will look at how we position and sell into the Public Sector now, who we target and why, and the power of partnership – both with the customer and complimentary technology companies. The Citizen/Patient has moved to the centre of the conversation, but this is sometimes a big change for the agencies we are selling to as well and they need our help to transform

We are driving growth, innovation and investment in a part of the world that needs it most, while changing the way that big corporates think about talent development.
Granicus (https://uk.granicus.com/) - Glen Ockso
Granicus connects a powerful network of 150 million people for more than 3000 government organisations at all levels of government in the UK, Europe and US. Glen will talk about life at Granicus and development in the wider GovTech ecosystem. Glen has been working with and within local government since 2006, when he left the voluntary and community sector after a decade to join the public sector. Delivering community engagement and consultation work initially, he later headed up innovation and governance in addition to those other functions. In 2014 Glen joined TSO to lead on their work with local authorities and the DCLG, before joining Granicus in 2016 in order to help the public sector better communicate with, engage with and involve residents, businesses and organisations. Glen also founded the We Love Local Government blog and podcast which, during its publication and broadcast time, was widely regarded as one of the most influential blogs in UK local government.
