Broomball Pickup Game at Warren Park

Join us for pickup broomball at Warren Park! We're playing on an outdoor ice rink. Whether you have played for years, only a few times, or you are trying something new, we welcome you to join us. Come by yourself or grab some friends. Our host will check players in, divide players into teams, provide all the equipment, and make sure that everything runs smoothly. All you have to do is show up ready to play!

Balls, sticks, and helmets are available on site. We will provide pinnies to differentiate the teams. You're welcome to bring your own stick and helmet if you have them. Broomball shoes are welcome but not required.

Broomball is played on ice in shoes (not skates!). With rules similar to floor hockey, you use a stick (with a paddle at the end) to maneuver, pass, and shoot a 6-inch diameter ball into hockey-sized goals. We play 6v6 (including goalies). The challenge of sliding on the ice makes it extra fun.

What to Wear
We are playing outdoors on ice. Dress for the weather. Wear athletic clothing - pants and long sleeves recommended. Broomball shoes are common, but not required. Shinguards and other padding recommended but optional.

What to Expect
Show up early! You may begin checking in 15 minutes prior to the posted start time for this event. If the ice is available, you may begin warming up before we begin.

We'll provide pinnies and broomballs. Broomball sticks and helmets will be available - though, you are welcome to bring your own.

Level of Play
This event is open to all levels of play. We do our best to create even teams so that games are well-matched. There are no referees, so players need to play with sportsmanship and call their own fouls.

There is plenty of free parking in the parking lot at Warren Park!

Minimum Number of Players
This event needs a minimum of 10 people (not including the host) signed up 4 hours before the start of the event in order to run. An email notification will be sent if we cancel. Sign up early to encourage more people to sign up!!

We play with a maximum of 18 players so everyone gets plenty of playing time and also a chance to sub out and take a breather. We will either split into two teams of up to 9 or 3 teams of 6 for a run rotation of competition.

Requirement to play
This is an adult group. You must be 18 older. Males and Females of all skill levels are welcome to play.
