A weekday evening walk to Hármashatár-hegy

[Rescheduled] from Wednesday to Thursday. I don't watch football, but I was told there would be a world cup game on Wednesday night.

I'm busy on the weekend, so I'm organizing a last-minute weekday walk after work. A short one, close to Budapest. We'll get to see a view over the city in the sunset, then we'll walk in the forest as it gets dark.

📅 Meeting Time and Place
2026-07-16 18:50, Thursday, at Erdőalja út 43 bus stop. We begin when the 137 bus arrives, and we won't wait for the next bus. Don't be late.

🗺️ The Walk
Full track here. 7 km, 300m elevation, 2.5 hours. Easy difficulty, but the incline to Hármashatár hill will be a noticeable excercise for beginners.

We're taking the 137 bus as far up the hill as it goes, then we'll continue on foot all the way to Guckler Károy lookout to admire the sunset views. Continuing towards Hűvösvölgy, we'll stop at Újlaki-hegy at the last glimpses of sunshine, then finish by walking in the dark woods back to the tram 61, and ending back at Széll Kálmán tér around 10 PM.

🎒 Bring

• Drinking water.
• Appropriate shoes and clothes for a walk in nature.
• A light. Don't use your phone's flash, as that would drain the battery. I have a few extra I can lend.
