🗣Talks:
- How Gojek optimised cortex / infra to run at 1/3rd of the cost (67% cost reduction)
Speakers: Kumar Harshil and Sivadeep Nallana, Observability team at Gojek
About the talk:
- Cost optimisation initiatives
- Reducing the cost of infra
- Optimising the cortex to save cost
- Zeroing down on most cost intrinsic operations (cloud inter-zone egress) and how we solved it
- Handling high cardinality in observability
Speaker: Prathamesh Sonpatki, Evangelist at Last9
About the talk: Observability heavily relies on metrics as a crucial aspect, providing a quick and cost-effective approach to addressing software health and SDLC queries. However, as the needs increase, so does the cardinality. This talk discusses building Observability platforms and workflows to manage the pulse of High Cardinality to solve use cases like combating Noisy Neighbors and being able to observe performance across millions of concurrent users.
- Centralized Alerting Solution, how we reduced 90% of business alerts
Speaker: Amartya Jha, Senior DevOps Engineer @ Zeta
About the talk: The talk focuses on how we can achieve alert Standardization, reduce alert duplication, improve alert correctness and achieve 100 % alert Coverage for all Infrastructures alerts, with automated alert documentation and a centralized platform for viewing alerts
- Migration to Mimir from Thanos
Speakers: Harsh Rai & Leegin Bernard, DevOps Engineers at Groww
About the talk:
Initially Groww was using thanos with Prometheus but we were not able to scale it. Queries were running very slow in thanos and other scaling issues were faced then Mimir was launched by Grafana. But in Thanos, the block structure was little different than Mimir. So we worked on blocks of Thanos and moved those blocks to Mimir bucket. This talk will discuss the need for migration to Mimir at Groww and the process of migration.
