Sensors to Screens: Building Real-Time IoT & Physical Dashboards with Raspberry

Details
18:00-18:30 - networking and pizza
18:30-19:00 Real-Time IoT with Raspberry Pi: Monitoring & Control Using Node-RED, InfluxDB & Grafana by Suyash Joshi
Discover how to build powerful real-time IoT systems with open source tools. This hands-on session shows how to use Node-RED for flow-based logic, InfluxDB 3 for time series data, and Grafana for dynamic dashboards—all running on a Raspberry Pi. Learn to ingest sensor data, trigger automated actions, and visualize insights in real time.
19:05-19:45 Hacking Real-World Data with Grafana, and MicroPython by Simon Prickett
A hands-on, beginner-friendly dive into the world of MicroPython and real-time data visualization.
This interactive session will introduce you to MicroPython and show you how to gather live data from sensors. We'll explore different methods to make that data available to Grafana or Prometheus, and demonstrate a dashboard that visualizes it all.
We’ll then take things further by constructing a physical representation of a Grafana panel using MicroPython-powered hardware. Watch your dashboard data come to life in the real world!
No programming or Grafana experience required. If you'd (optionally) like to join in the fun, bring a fully charged laptop with a USB A port: Mac users may need to bring their adapter. Come curious and leave inspired by what's possible when hardware meets observability!
19:45-20:00 Lightning talk (TBC)
