Grafana & Friends Meetup 2026 #001
Details
Date: Wednesday, 16 September 2026
Time: 18:30 WIB
Location: Markas Indonesia HQ
### About The Event
Calling all observability enthusiasts, DevOps engineers, SREs, and data visualizers! Join us for the inaugural Grafana & Friends Meetup 2026 #001.
As systems grow more complex, keeping up with the evolving landscape of monitoring and telemetry is more critical than ever. Fresh off the massive announcements from GrafanaCON 2026 and Grafana's recent AI Week, we are bringing the latest insights, tools, and best practices directly to our local community!
Speaker 1
Geraldo Gabriel, Solutions Engineer at Grafana Labs
Topic Title: Root cause in the terminal: debugging production with gcx and a coding agent.
Abstract:
"Your alert fires at 2am. You open Grafana in one tab, Slack in another, your editor in a third, and spend the next hour reconstructing what happened before you write a single line of the fix.
gcx is Grafana's official CLI, and it puts Grafana Cloud where you already work: the terminal, and agentic coding environments like Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot. In this session I walk through a full root cause investigation without switching windows. We list what's firing, pull the alert rule, hand the question to Grafana Assistant for causal analysis, read back the investigation report and timeline, then follow up with "what changed in the last deploy?" while the context is still loaded.
You'll learn where deterministic gcx commands are the right tool for exact retrieval and verification, and where Assistant earns its keep on comparative and causal questions a coding agent can't answer cheaply. Live demo throughout, on a real alert."
Speaker 2
Muhamad Yogi
Cloud Database Administrator at BitHealth and Grafana Champion
Topic Title: How Observability, Machine Learning, and AI Agents Can Help Us Move Toward an Autonomous Database
Abstract:
"Database operations are traditionally reactive: engineers monitor dashboards, respond to alerts, investigate incidents, and manually take corrective actions. As database environments become more complex, observability alone is no longer enough—we also need the ability to understand patterns, predict potential issues, and assist with operational decisions.
