No Groovy / Grails Meeting This Month & Spring2GX Call For Speakers

Hello,

So as you probably realized, no meeting this month.?? We decided to take a hiatus until the fall, and kick it back into high gear.? As always, let us know if you'd like to get involved, or have something you'd like to share with the group.?

Another idea I had for the fall was whether people would be interested in having a longer meeting, hackfest-style?? We could try to get together on a Saturday, pick a topic to explore, and spend some time coding together, perhaps pick a problem and all try to solve it, or just bring stuff we are working on, and do code reviews for each other.? I think it could be a good learning experience, and only need a few people to show up.?? If you think that could be cool (in some capacity - the above are just a couple of ideas), let me know off-list.?

Spring2GX
Also, I hear there are speaking slots open for Groovy/Grails/Griffon/etc. talks at SpringOne/2GX in October. If you have one or more topics that you would like to present (keep in mind that talks are 90 minutes) please submit them at their site.

If you're selected you'll get free admission to the conference and hotel/airfare will be paid. Check out the conference site at http://springone2gx.com/conference/chicago/2010/10/home for more info.
